In 2014, Solomon Energy was approached by Schoharie County in upstate New York to manage an RFP process to select a winning bid for a Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Solomon Energy managed every step of the process: analyzing each Town, Village and City’s electric usage, working with the local utility companies to ensure the project met specific qualifications, and preparing and distributing the RFP to Solomon’s extensive network of solar developers.
rnDuring Solomon's review process, the Village of Cobleskill retained Solomon to manage an RFP independent from Schoharie County for a remote net metered solar array.
rnAfter receiving proposals from nine of the top solar developers throughout the country, the New York Public Service Commission (PSC) announced an Order which dramatically affected state incentives for commercial solar projects. Under strict time constraints from the PSC announcement, Solomon Energy worked closely with solar developers and municipality officials to ensure the project received the best possible incentives.
rnAfter a careful review process, Solomon Energy selected the winning bidder and arranged the signing of a 1 MW PPA, which is anticipated to produce $1 - $1.7 million in savings over the 20-year PPA period and at no cost to the municipality.
