In late 2014, a law firm representing a the Town of Clifton Park, NY contacted Solomon Energy to review the technical terms of a 994 kW solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) proposal and to ensure that the offer was consistent with other solar developers' offers within the area.
rnIn addition to reviewing all of the technical documents and reviewing the proposed equipment specification sheets, Solomon Energy conducted a savings analysis independent from the solar developer to ensure the assumptions used were consistent with the rest of the solar industry.
rnArmed with specific pricing knowledge from having worked on numerous municipal and commercial solar projects in upstate New York, Solomon was also able to verify that the prices offered to the Town of Clifton Park were reasonable. Even though this project had a PPA structure, meaning there were no upfront costs to Clifton Park, the prices quoted by the solar developer for designing, procurement, and installation of the system directly affected the PPA rate offered to the Town.
rnWith the help of Solomon’s review, the Town Board approved to move forward with the installation of the nearly 1 MW solar system in 2015.
